chichi-wheels: So I can't convince you how much fun it is to drive the Kungfu shuttle (it's a minivan folks) and I had my reasons for getting it, it's all the SUV with better mileage, cheaper insurance, lower price tag and only sacrificing some "follow the herd sense of cool" but if I ever  relocated the kungfu cave to the city and ever thought about buying a car, it'd be the Mazda protégé 5. The Protégé 5 is wicked fast, as little cars go and still looks benign enough to avoid profiling, important for your large black man, drug smuggler or hired assassin. Cool is a state of mind and I see it regularly in the outline of minivans, new schools station wagons and experimental designs. The protégé 5 does cool and it does it a bit better then the Ford Focus-IMHO and we've yet to see what the new Toyota matrix is made of. So give it a spin, you might be surprised.
"the story of Astro Boy is at once a fable about a young boy (albeit a robot boy with nigh-unlimiteddestructive power) attempting to find himself and a cautionary tale about the right and wrong usesoftechnology."

chichi-gear: Everybody I know owns a tape recorder and they don't use it. For whatever reason though you bought it, college, work, bootleg concert recordings. The thought seems sensible enough, you need to remember things you heard and the easiest thing to do is record them. Of course, the tapes sit, transcribing is a bitch (unless you have a secretary) and you never have enough tapes. So my love hate relationship has crossed a dozen years and as many tape recorders. When digital recorders first came out I was interesting they were very much positioned as a semi-alternative and as a precursor to today's hand held organizer. As a matter of fact the Ipaq, Palm OS Handspring and other modern handhelds all do voice recording. So it was a nice surprise to see that Olympus had released a very respectable line of digital voice recorders. They are so cool that I want to take back my entry level model and spend the bucks for one of the nicer ones. the smallest one (DW-90) will run you about forty bucks and record up to thirty minutes of good audio, they all purport to do more, but the higher rating suck. The bottom line is simple, light weight, amazing battery life and they are usb friendly and download all your snippets as *.wav files. How much better does it get.
-MCA/Res-
chichi-audio: Res is a cute girl, she's a dash of Macy Gray, more on production then sound and her lyrical composition sometimes reminds me of -Poe-. What can you say about someone who is firmly rooted in the pop genre, she's made for the radio/club/video play circuit. But I'll be honest, it's cool to hear a black chick doing the hip white girl pop/alternative thing, while also pulling off a old school nineties edge on a few pop/hip hop cuts reminiscent of early -Zhane-. Res is a child of the studio and both benefits and suffers from the processed sound studio sound. Overlapping chorus and and vocals are excellent, her voice is not polished but it is versatile, she knows how to massage words and the minor gravelly sound, makes her sound more real. Occasionally a few tracks drift into "next track" territory and sound too made, but there is enough - tracks 1, 2, 4 & 8 for example are good enough to make you keep playing the album. If Res broke away from her label, went broke, became a utter pop failure and had to find herself, she'd make some awesome albums, she ain't bad now though either.
-The Hun, one stop porn @ it's best- xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -Think Geek, the good shortcut to geek chic-
Where do you go to beat your meat online? Well to the Hun of course. If only they delivered personal lubricants to your door, the life of a shut in would be improved. Low bandwidth and high pipe users alike can find hours of orgasmic joy at this old school site which sticks to the basics; one joke and a bunch of porn. The Hun rocks cause it is policed regularly, has a strong base of fairly decent webmasters who want you to do just one thing, see their smut and come back with your credit card. The great thing about the hun is that each daily update is more then enough to get off, be disgusted, find some new and interesting fetish you didn't realize you liked and still have a handful of shit you have no interest in checking out.
Think geek is a high tech cheat of sorts. You are not supposed to get cool stuff from a cool stuff emporium. I mean you can, but it's always seems more fun when you either a. make some cool shit or b. find it in some obscure ass place. But since the geek culture has traded their saturns for Acura CL's, small pay checks for bonuses and the shitty life in the back of the company for aeron chairs and liquid cooled computers, who has time to look for Atari 2600's at thrift stores?
